The Scottish Mirror Championships were held at the Loch from Friday, 19th to Sunday 21st July, 2002.

There was a good turnout, with boats coming from far afield - South from Shetland and North from Manchester. We had sail nos ranging from 907 (Ernie Turpie) to the three week-old 70172 (Stuart Bithell)!

On Friday, in mainly light winds, 8 boats competed for the Junior and Youth Championships. The Junior Champions were Stuart Bithell and Holly Scott (70172, Hollingworth Lake SC) and the Youth Championship was won by Katie and Anna Mackenzie (69683, Royal Windermere YC).

On Saturday there was a good sample of St. Mary's winds, varying from no wind in the morning to (literally) mast-breaking conditions in the afternoon. Sunday was similar, but more moderate.

16 boats raced for the Open Championship.

The Team prize went to Annandale SC and the prize for Best Home Club Boat to Charles Willoughby / Robert Wilson.

The overall positions:
4th and best single-hander; Andrew Greenhalgh (63224, Annandale SC)
3rd; Katie & Anna Mackenzie (69683, Royal Windermere YC)
2nd; Jonathan McGovern & Nicola Brook (69907, Hollingworth Lake SC)
and the Open Champions: Stuart Bithell and Holly Scott (70172, Hollingworth Lake SC).

The Masters was won by Gerry and Luke McGill (70010, Sunderland YC)

Thanks to all who took part for making it a successful weekend.
