Commodore's Cup 2017
This proved to be a weekend of two halves. On a rather pleasant Saturday some 20 Lasers and Solos ventured onto the loch under a bright sky and a fairly steady southerly wind.
All 3 races had a mix of gentle and stiffer breezes within them on a nicely challenging and good length of course. Racing at the front was close throughout and the course for the 3rd race was lengthened to generate a longer reach and beat to separate the wheat from the chaff!
It was great to see a number of junior and novice sailors on the sign in sheet which in turn ensured there was competition from the front to the back of the fleet throughout the day.
Eventual winners were:
- Andrew Hewitt (Laser Class)
- Keith Milroy (Solo Class)
Due to the tail-end winds from hurricane Irma hitting our shores the Enterprise and Mirror fleets had to be rescheduled until the 8th October.
Enterprises & Mirrors
BUT the 8th was at the other end of the spectrum. The Enterprises managed 2 races and the winners were:
- Charles Morrish & Alison Robertson Morrish (Enterprise)
Whilst the Mirrors, despite their hard endeavours, only managed a single race and an attempt will be made to re-run this on the 15th Oct!!
We shall persist...
